Purina Pro Plan Dreaming Dog Fetch Woods Commercial

In this Purina Pro Plan Commercial a dog is sleeping on his / her doggy bed and dreams of playing an extreme game of fetch in the woods. In the dream, the dog runs through the woods, as southern metal music plays in the background, looking for the “stick” it’s supposed to fetch. As the the dog dreams his / her legs twitch as if actually running. In the dream, the dog finally finds the stick it was looking for, which as it turns out is actually a huge log. He / She grabs it and starts running with it. The dogs owner whistles, and the dog wakes up from the ambitious dream, grabs his stick, and runs off pumped for the game of fetch it’s hoping to play.

We had a Belgian Malinois that carried downed trees through the woods until the path narrowed. She died in April. This commercial brings back wonderful memories.

  • Dog Boy says:

We have a two year old 1/2 German shepherd, 1/2 Belgian malinois. She is a dead ringer for this dog. They both looks like neither malinois nor turvuren. Gorgeous puppy. Curious as to the breeding on this one.

  • Michel R Major says:

P.S. My spelling was terrible in my comment above! We have Terv just like in this fabulous commercial and a Groenendael, both females!

  • Michel R Major says:

We have both female Terv and Groendael and these most wonderful animals adapt to whatever lifestyle you give them. They love structure, most importantly. We are passionate about our loving dogs and after having several breeds in the past 40 yrs this breed is the most wonderful of all. Don’t let people scare you about walking 10 miles or needing acres for them…give them love, attention, exercise and patience and you will have a wonderful companion for life, their lives! They are amazing!!!

Love this commercial! I also love to think that this is what dogs (and cats) are dreaming about when you see their legs twitching and hear noises while they sleep. KUDOS to the producer and the person with this vision to make this commercial. Love it! ❤️

  • Jane Valenti says:

I think they are showing both breeds, because in the woods it looks just like the terv. When the dog jumps out of his bed it looks like a mal.

  • Joan Parisi says:

I believe the dog is a Belgian Malinois of European lines. The breed Tervs and Mals together and therefore the Mal will occasionally have a slightly longer coat than what we are used to seeing in this country.

  • Doug says:

It’s a Belgian Tervuren, which is the long hair version of the Belgian Malinois. A third variety of the Belgian Shepherd is the Belgian Groenendael (long haired, black) These are all EXTREME HIGH ENERGY dogs. No way can it live in an apartment or neighborhood unless you plan to walk it several times per day, about 5 to 10 miles a day. In addition to high physical activity, this dog MUST also be engaged mentally with training. Lack of either excercise or mental engagement you’ll have a nightmare on your hands. Great for law enforcement, search & rescue, agility, and herding dogs. Extremely smart. I wouldn’t recommend this pooch to anyone unless you have an acre or more of property, and time to train this fabulous beauty.

Love it. Makes me wanna eat that stuff :)

  • Cheryl says:

Belgian Malinois or Terv. Hair length is in between the two.

    • Jeff says:

      Terv. Identical to my boy.

    • Cheryl says:

Thanks, I have a belgium malinois, and the dog in the commercial
Looks a lot like my Sassy! And a helpful hint, if you aren’t working these
high energy dogs, obedience classes are a must! Sassy is 9 and the first few
      Years was a learning experience.

  • Katrina says:

    OMG! This is my dog!!!

  • rr says:

Is this a shepherd? What are the technical colors/breed of this dog?

  • susie doo says:
