Sprint Unlimited My Way Undead Zombie Commercial

Sprint Unlimited My Way Undead Zombie Commercial
84 votes, 4.06 avg. rating (81% score)

A zombie stands in front a friendly red haired Sprint Representative moaning, growling, or screeching (whichever you think fits best). The redhead Sprint saleswoman, played by Laura Spencer, greets him with a smile “Can I help you?” The zombie coughs and immediately starts talking like a normal human being “Excuse me, hi. Uh, I wanted to find out about the unlimited for life guarantee.” The Sprint employee replies “Sure, Sprint is guaranteeing unlimited talk, text, and data for life.” The zombie seems pleased but has more questions “Cool, cool cool cool cool, and uh what if say technically you were not alive. Like, maybe you were, undead?” The Sprint saleswoman replies “Like a zombie.” The zombie somewhat offended, or at least pretending to be, suggests “Woooooaaahhhh, let’s not go putting labels on people.” Immediately after the zombie stops talking, his ear falls off of his head and lands on the floor. After a second the zombie confesses “… I’m a zombie.”

Dumb. Set for the lowest uncommon denominator. Social fantasy for fools. But at least they didn’t make up a brainless word like “framily”. Oh wait….

The way the “zombie” says, “I’m a zombie” when the girl just looks at him after his “labels” rant makes me laugh out loud each time I see it. This commercial should win a CLIO.

I have been in the U.S. military, and am a former police officer and I have seen disgusting things, so this commercial could not gross me out. I have a great sense of humor, but I’m also not a pimple faced teenager in love with the zombie craze. I could not care less if adults like it, or you have a child of your own who has been amused by it. There are many children who are traumatized by the images of walking corpses with body parts falling off. Perhaps they have had a parent, grandparent, or sibling die, or are autistic and don’t understand the ‘humor’ and the idea of decaying dead bodies walking around out of their graves haunts their dreams after seeing this. Parents should not have to be forced to watch every commercial for censoring stupidity in advertising to the general public. Advertisers are sick and irresponsible for putting this on open television airways, and those who say you need a sense of humor are as immature and idiotic as the SPRINT executives. I will NEVER use sprint because they don’t care about the children who do NOT find these disturbing images amusing. You are playing to some who like it, but not all – and that just shows a lack of integrity.

So F’ING SICK OF THIS COMMERCIAL. First of all – I hate the whole idea of zombies -rotting corpses belong 6′ down in the ground, period. Even though this commercial is mildly amusing, it’s terribly over-played. In our market it’s on several times an hour, no matter what cable or broadcast channel I’m watching. PLEASE SPRINT – GIVE US A BREAK

Hate this commercial, it’s just as annoying as the Vonage commercials. The girl’s expression when the ear falls off is annoying. It’s not a look of concern or fear, it’s more like disbelief, and if we’re assuming that Sprint gets zombie customers, and the zombie is already afraid of being labeled, then the girl should show better customer service. Yes, this is stupid, but that’s the sort of stupid logic that happens when you use a zombie to sell telecommunications. The zombie’s admission is also annoying. It’s as if the commercial is making fun of the people who walk into a Sprint store. And before reading the comments here, I never even noticed the commercial was for Sprint. And the commercial would never make me think of using Sprint, and I’ve been done with my phone contract for a long time and could be in the market for a new plan. Or, Sprint could just make a dumb commercial that people like to record and watch over and over because they find it “funny.” Who knew a zombie dropping an ear is hilarious to people. Your choice, Sprint.

My 4 yr old laughs so hard at this commercial. I don’t like the commercial, not big on zombies. But I leave it on bc he loves it. The first time was funny. I’m really hoping this is just for Halloween, and not The Walking Dead, I don’t think I can handle that much of this commercial. It’s just on too much.

Laura Spencer is one of the cutest, most naturally beautiful young woman I’ve ever seen on TV. The message itself that Sprint is communicating also rings positively with frustrated Verizon customers such as myself. I’m making the move to Sprint very soon.

Love the commercial but my wife hates it. I’m grossed out more by feminine hygiene and catheter commercials. Those should be BANNED. The zombie makes me smile and having seen tons of internal and external cell phone commercials (used to work for radioshack and go to lots of meetings and see things that were never released) this is one of the coolest ones I’ve seen. As for small kids… why are you kids up during prime time hours anyway (the only time I see it)? Get those buggers to bed!

Very creative commercial. Creepy and gross? Apparently, those making the comments regarding the zombie as over-the-top have never watched ‘The Walking Dead’ or any numerous movies of the genre. There are scarier things in a Scooby Doo cartoon (let me guess… you don’t let your kids watch those either?)

Zombies are all the fad right now although I’ve been a big fan long before the craze and will be after it’s faded away. The commercial didn’t convince me to switch to Sprint, but I found it clever, albeit it’s now a bit overplayed as to lose it’s appeal.

Also, if you’re going to decry that the number of Sprint subscribers is on the decline, then: it’s ‘losing’ it’s customers, not ‘loosing’.

This commercial is a comedic success due to the timing and fluid banter between the actors.
At least they are trying something new and different. Good for them—I love the natural vibe of the zombie. As far as pushing Sprint products, not a strong as it could be at first watch, since I was focused so much on the enjoyment of the silliness, but hey, we are laughing and watching it over and over again. The message has sunken in, (much like his face), and it’s a fun, quick spot. I love how people are getting so revved up over this. Relax folks.

This commercial rapes my eyes and ears every time it comes on TV. I mute it and look away. Creepy zombie with an annoying scream. Sprint should fire the firm who created this sh*t. It’s not often a commercial gets so much NEGATIVE feedback from viewers. Believe me, it’s warranted… this commercial was a FAIL.

I couldn’t agree more! This is so disturbing for those whom aren’t zombie watchers. I have 2 small toddlers and will not have the TV on around them because of this. I know my lil one’s will be scared. Can the offer be done already!! Or do it by mail..at least those who **LOVE** can look at something for 24 hours with a card and those whom don’t can simply throw away and not have to worry. Ug!

I sympathize with everyone saying they don’t want small children seeing this commercial. I’m an adult and I was grossed out. It’s unnerving to see a menacing zombie straight out of a horror flick, screaming and howling on my TV screen like he’s ready to kill somebody. I spent the whole time thinking “Is he going to kill that poor redhead Sprint girl? What was Sprint thinking?” I don’t want their cell phone service… I just want their crappy commercial OFF my television.

He watched the movie “IT” before he was 3, and the watched it again not long after he was 3. Not all kids are scared of stuff like that. I was the same way, watched Nightmare on Elm Street when I was 3 and every yr after that. Watched “IT” when it came on (I believe it was mid 90s. But all kids are different.

Well… my friends and I thought it was hilarious, and memorable enough that I have now done an internet search for it in hopes of determining the name of the actor who played the zombie. If a commercial’s goal is to get people’s attention and be remembered, mission accomplished.

Sprint isn’t winning any customers with this presentation. It gives the brand an unprofessional immature polish if they think this represents their value. I guess if anything it highlights how little they have to offer because all I remember is how poorly a company must be operating to move from pins dropping to ears dropping.

What's Your Opinion?
